Every week I get shown three or four new AI tools I’m apparently supposed to be using already. Most of them are not worth an afternoon, never mind a rebuilt workflow. Here is the filter I actually run new AI opportunities through, and what it’s told me to skip, start, and hold off on lately. Why I needed a filter at all I test tools for a living now. Automations, AI workflows, client builds, the lot. If I said yes to everything that showed up in my feed with a screenshot and an arrow pointing at a growth chart, I would spend more time evaluating software than doing the work that pays. The pace of new launches is absolutely mental right now, and that’s exactly why a slow decision process doesn’t survive contact with it. The gap between “I should probably look into that” and “I am actually using that” is where most AI adoption dies. Not because the tools are bad. Because nobody has a fast way to decide, so nothing gets decided at all. So I built four questions. Boring on purpose. A filter you can’t run in under a minute isn’t a filter, it’s homework, and homework is exactly what stops people from starting. The four que…
