Claude is adding more and more connectors and a desktop mode that executes tasks on your behalf. It’s a fair question: do you still need Zapier MCP? Short answer: yes . Here is why that is not the obvious answer it sounds like. What Claude can do now Claude has been quietly getting more capable than most people realise. Two things in particular are relevant here. Native connectors link Claude directly to apps like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, HubSpot, Airtable, ClickUp, Notion, Figma, and a growing list of others. No third-party layer, no extra setup. You ask Claude to read your emails, update a record, or create a calendar event and it does it, inside the same conversation. Cowork mode (the Claude desktop app) goes a step further. It gives Claude access to your local files, your connected tools, and the ability to run multi-step tasks on your behalf from a single instruction. Think of it as Claude acting as an assistant who can actually open things, edit them, and move between apps without you clicking through every step.
